Major Update!

Hi!!!!
Well, it has been over a year since I have last updated and soooooooo much has happened since then! I dont even know where to begin lol..
Lets start where I left off, I guess. First, the cancer. So, last October 2012, I went ahead and had the second surgery to remove the other side of my thyroid, after that, Nov 15, I went through radiation. I had to go on a low idodine diet leading up to the treatment and that was absolutely horrible! I could barely eat anything because everything had iodine in it. So, I had to find foods with low idodine and let me tell you, there arent many. I basically lived off of  dry chicken and rice  for two weeks! No fun. Then for the radioactive treatment, I had to go to a hotel for three days in total seclusion. That wasnt fun either. But, when I went back for my whole body scan to see if there was any cancer left, there wasnt! WHOOP! So, as far as I know, I have been cancer free for about a year. I am due for a checkup soon. I should have had one in May, 6 months post radiation, but Ill tell you why I didnt get it done in a minute.
Moving on My little man, Tre, is now almost two!!! He is almost 22 months old!!! Can you believe how fast time flies!!! He is a talking machine!! He is also verrrrry mischievous and active. He is approaching that 'terrible twos' and its been a bit difficult trying to get that under control. But, we are working on it. I am getting ready to start potty training him soon too! That will be fun! ;) Here are a few pics of my big boy:

( Not funny lol)

Tre has made my life complete! He is a joy to have as my child although I welcome any time someone wants to take him for the day lol. I have school on Tuesdays and my sister in law takes him for the whole day every Tuesday so that I can get my homework done and attend my four hour sessions. Then on Saturdays, my other sister in law picks him up and keeps him until the evening to give me a much needed break. You may be wondering why I have needed a break so bad....that is because Tre is now a big brother!!!
Thats right! He has a little sister now!!!!!! Ok, let me back up lol
In my last post, I mentioned how I was not supposed to get pregnant for 6 months after radiation therapy. Two different endocrologists and my obgyn told me that it would actually be difficult for me to conceive due to my body not ovulating because of the lack of thyroid to stimulate those hormones to work and stuff. Well, they were all wrong! On my birthday, my husband and I had a little unprotected fun and two weeks later Im looking at a positive pregnancy test!!
I was in major shock and in denial took some more just to make sure:
Yep! I was pregnant again! I was pretty upset at first because I had been told that I shouldn't get pregnant within 6 months to a year because of high risk of miscarriage because of the radiation and also since my hormones weren't stabilized yet. I was also pretty nervous that the baby would have what Jarrett did. But, everything was fine! I had a pretty difficult and rough pregnancy due to morning sickness the whole time, and unstabilized hormones. But, the baby turned out just fine! I delivered a healthy beautiful little girl at 37 weeks pregnant after being in labor from first contraction to birth almost 5 hours!

We are totally in love with this little girl!

She is only two weeks old so I am still trying to get the hang of balancing life with a newborn, active toddler, school, and a household. It s been pretty crazy but I know once I get the hang of it, everything will be smooth sailing! I will continue to update on Anaiya and Tre on here.

Well that is pretty much it in a nutshell! This past year and a half has been crazy lol. Since I was pregnant in May and couldnt do my check up to make sure that the cancer hadnt come back, I will have to get it done soon. The dilema is when do I get it done? Because Im breastfeeding Anaiya and if I get the checkup (which is a thryogen injection then whole body scan that my insurance only covers once) and find out that there is some cancer then I will have to undergo radiation immediately, which means I will have to stop breastfeeding immediately. So I want to wait until a from now for the checkup but that means that it will be almost two since the last radiation. Which my doctor feels is way to long to go in between checks......sooooooo Im at a crossroads and am not sure what I should do. I am just going to pray about it. Hopefully whenever I do eventually get it done, it will show that there is no cancer present and I can just continue breastfeeding....sigh.......

Well thats it for now. The baby is crying to be fed and Tre is screaming my name from his room, where he is supposed to be napping! Lol Lord help!
